Upper Reservoir Of The Dnister Pumped-storage Power Plant

The Dniester PSPP is the largest pumped-storage power plant in Europe. It stores energy generated at night for use during peak electricity demand. The total construction cost is estimated at over USD 2 billion.

Automagistral-Pivden participated in the construction of the upper reservoir. The reservoir covers 255 hectares, with depths ranging from 15 to 30 meters. Around 150 units of equipment and 400 workers were involved. More than 800,000 cubic meters of crushed stone and rock were used for lining and dam construction. In total, about 3.5 million cubic meters of soil were used.
