Bridge construction

The construction and reconstruction of bridges, bridge crossings, overpasses, viaducts, tunnels, and other engineering structures is one of the core areas of Automagistral-Pivden’s operations.

Up to 2021, the company delivered up to 50 bridge-related projects annually. The largest projects during that period include:
– the reconstruction of the bridge over the Sula River near the village of Lypove (Poltava region) on the H-08 “Boryspil – Mariupol” highway (211 m long);
– the capital repair of the bridge over the Khadzhibey Estuary on the M-05 “Kyiv – Odesa” highway, including widening from 4 to 6 lanes;
– a 518 m-long steel overpass, 30 m high, as part of the Poltava bypass project;
– a 600 m-long viaduct over the headwaters of the Oril River in a protected area of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

In 2022–2024, the company’s bridge construction teams restored more than 30 strategic bridges in de-occupied regions of Ukraine. The largest restoration projects include the bridge over the Irpin River in Stoianka (M-06 “Kyiv – Chop” highway) and the 600 m-long bridge over the Desna River in Shestovytsia (M-01 “Kyiv – Chernihiv” highway).

During the reconstruction process, modern technologies (such as incremental launching) are applied, requiring highly skilled personnel. Newly built infrastructure replacing destroyed structures is designed to carry significantly higher loads and meets modern standards, including bicycle lanes, sidewalks, lighting, and stormwater treatment systems.

In addition to restoring damaged infrastructure, in 2024–2025 the company implemented emergency repair programs for dozens of small bridges in the Lviv and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as in several other areas.

In Kyiv, at the intersection of Bohatyrska and Poliarna streets, Automagistral-Pivden constructed a two-level transport interchange in 2023–2024, featuring a six-lane overpass and approach roads with a total length of 600 m.

The successful development of the bridge construction division is linked to the integration of several leading Ukrainian bridge engineering companies with extensive experience into the structure of Automagistral-Pivden.

The company’s bridge construction division operates a wide range of specialized machinery and equipment, including cranes, drilling and piling rigs, and marine equipment. The implementation of complex projects is supported by in-house production of exclusive reinforced concrete elements and steel structures.
