Projects in Moldova
In 2019, the company launched its first major international project in Moldova – the construction and reconstruction of 85 km of the M3 Chișinău – Giurgiulești highway. The project was financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
As part of the project in Moldova, a production base was established, including an asphalt plant, a soil mixing plant, and later a concrete batching plant. On the first 54 km section, commissioned at the end of 2022, the company rehabilitated 9 bridges.
On other sections commissioned in 2023, earthworks totaling nearly 800,000 m³ were completed. The project also included the development of associated road infrastructure such as bus shelters, lighting systems, sidewalks, and parking areas.
In 2023, the company launched its second major project in Moldova – the construction of the 8.5 km Vulcănești bypass. The bypass connects the newly built sections of the M3 highway commissioned by the company in 2022–2023.
The project consists of two parts: a 3 km section of the existing road and a 5.8 km greenfield section. The new construction involved extensive earthworks totaling 320,000 m³, including embankments up to 16 meters high and cuttings with slopes reaching 30 meters.
A 50-meter bridge was constructed between the two sections. The new section was commissioned ahead of schedule, allowing traffic bound for Moldova’s Danube port to bypass the city.
In 2025, Automagistral-Pivden and Moldova’s National Road Administration signed a contract for the reconstruction of a 43 km section of the R34 highway between Cahul and Cantemir. The contract value is €57.1 million.
The R34 highway runs along the Romanian border, where six border crossing points are located. The rehabilitation of the road is important not only for the development of local communities, but also for improving logistics between Moldova and the European Union.
The project includes:
- Road widening and pavement reconstruction, reconstruction of intersections, and construction of access roads to agricultural lands and households.
Construction of 6 bridges. - Installation of sidewalks, lighting systems, safety barriers, drainage systems, utilities, and related infrastructure.
Automagistral-Pivden has established itself in Moldova as a reliable contractor that consistently meets deadlines, guarantees high quality, and applies modern technologies and engineering solutions.
Projects in Romania
Automagistral-Pivden has been operating in the Romanian market since 2023. During this period, the company established its Romanian office, which competes for the country’s largest infrastructure projects. The company’s first production base was built in Salonta.
