Anti-Drone Protection – Task No. 1 in the Maintenance of Frontline Roads!
Automagistral-Pivden Company maintains 13,500 km of Ukrainian roads, including a network of highways in frontline areas.
Road maintenance primarily involves ensuring traffic safety and comfort. Near the frontlines, the main threat to drivers is no longer potholes or road damage, but enemy drones operating tens of kilometers from the frontline.
Therefore, in frontline regions, as part of road maintenance, the company installs anti-drone nets in dangerous road sections.
To do this, we clear the shoulders of overgrowth and shrubs, drive 1.5-meter metal pipes into the ground using special equipment, and attach 6-meter supports to them. To ensure the strength and stability of the structure, we install guy wires and connections between the supports using steel wire, and then mount a polymer net on top.
Currently, we plan to protect over 25 km of national highways in this way. More than 100 company employees work daily on installing anti-drone nets under high-risk conditions.
