Over 150 artificial structures were destroyed in Ukraine during the war. The first of them have already been restored. And our company is the leader in infrastructure reconstruction!
In the fall, we opened traffic on both lanes across the bridge in Stoyanka (route M-06, Irpin River). Having restored the most important and powerful transport corridor connecting Kyiv with EU countries. Simultaneously with Stoyanka, work continued on the reconstruction of the bridge over Trubyzh (route M-03 Kyiv-Kharkiv). The right-hand drive was completed in November. This week we fully opened the bridge to traffic.
This is a truly historic, significant event. Our company has connected the West and the East of the country again! The bridge over Trubizh near the village of Borshchiv on the Kharkiv highway was also blown up at the beginning of the war to prevent the enemy from breaking through to the capital. The length of the building is 93 meters. Three running structures were destroyed and two were damaged. Back in April, our company arranged a temporary detour and began dismantling the emergency structures. The bridge was completely dismantled.
The first stage of reconstruction: installation of bored piles, supports, grates, nozzles, crossbars and other structures, installation of reinforced concrete beams (8 units for each span).
Next stages: reinforced monolithic slab 22 cm thick, waterproofing, two layers of asphalt concrete, monolithic sidewalks with anti-slip and waterproof coating, metal barrier fence, handrail fence. The drainage system has been restored.
The new bridge was built wider, so the approaches to it at a distance of 150 meters had to be replaced. Complete disassembly of the road surface was carried out on the adjacent sections (53 m). On the rest (97 m), milling and installation of the leveling and top layer of asphalt concrete was performed. ❗️So, “Automagistral-Pivden” did not just restore the old bridge, but built a modern infrastructural object, which now meets the parameters of first-category highways (only part of the piles remained from the old bridge).
Please note that the project is not completed today! The temporary detour built in the spring is being analyzed, and other related works are being carried out. ❗️The commissioning of the bridge is planned for next year.
Master Vitaly Pryadka came to work at “Automagistral-Pivden” in 2017. He has been working in the company since then. From the beginning of the war, Vitaliy headed the headquarters of the local TRO. Yury Moskalenko, a bulldozer operator, and dump truck drivers Oleksandr Moskalenko, Vyacheslav Laguta, and Oleksandr Kostyuchenko serve together with Vitaly. All are also highway drivers.
During the occupation, Gluhiv was in the rear of the enemy. The Ukrainian defense forces managed to stop the armored convoys of the Rashists, preventing them from entering the city. During the entire period of occupation of Sumy Oblast, the local TRO together with the military maintained a circular defense. – As builders, we were very sorry to destroy some infrastructure facilities, but we had to, – Vitaly says. – And some bridges were blown up by Russian troops when they were fleeing from the region.
Glukhiv is a city with an outstanding history. Almost 400 years ago, it was one of the centers of resistance to Russian aggression. In March-June 1668, the city withstood the longest siege in its history. Moscow guns leveled the city with the ground, the enemy had a tenfold advantage, but the will of the Cossacks to resist remained indomitable. Gluhiv is almost on the border with the Russian Federation, therefore the main tasks of the TRO are to observe enemy actions, patrol, identify and destroy DRGs. There are no direct hostilities here yet. But shelling continues almost every day. – We are very grateful to our native company, which continues to support us and pay our salaries, because we are considered a volunteer unit. We know, we read about the fact that our teams are already rebuilding bridges and restoring roads in Sumy Oblast. We are proud of our company. All the guys with me really want to go back to work. However, we understand that the enemy may try to attack Ukraine again from the northern direction at any time. But after the Victory, we will definitely return to “Automagistral-Pivden” again, because our company is the best, – concludes Vitaly.
Our company is returning to the Chernivtsi region. We worked in Bukovyna at the dawn of the existence of “Automagistral-Pivden” in 2009. They built the bypass road of Chernivtsi, dealt with the liquidation of the consequences of floods. 12 years later, we are working again in our native region and immediately with a strategic, iconic object.
It’s no secret that with the beginning of the war, the load on checkpoints on the western borders increased significantly. The amount of transport has increased many times.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and European partners of Ukraine initiated the “Open Border” project. The goal is to develop the automobile border infrastructure.
This summer, as part of the presidential initiative, our company carried out a comprehensive modernization of the Korchova-Krakivets point. The throughput capacity of the checkpoint was increased by 50%, and a 1.7-hectare site was built nearby for the storage of large-sized vehicles.
Our second border facility is implemented in Chernivtsi region. This is the section of road T-26-08 to the checkpoint “Krasnoilsk – Vikovu de Sous”.
CPP “Krasnoilsk” is a long building. Its construction began in 2015 as part of a cross-border cooperation grant project, but in 2016 the work was frozen. This year, the facility was finally completed. “Krasnoilsk” has to unload “Porubne – Siret”, until recently the only checkpoint on the border with Romania, provided for the passage of cargo vehicles. The throughput capacity of the new checkpoint is 500 cars per day.
The total length of the overhaul site is almost 28 km. Our company built a 7-kilometer section with a cement concrete surface. Road T-26-08 Storozhynets – checkpoint “Krasnoilsk” appeared more than a hundred years ago, from 1896 to 1900. Our site has remained gravel from the beginning of its existence to this day. The decision to install a cement-concrete coating on this section is due to several reasons. The first is the significant traffic of large-sized cargo transport. The second is a complex terrain, descents, serpentines, which leads to an increase in the load on the surface. The third reason is that it was not necessary to use imported components for the construction of the road. All material is local.
Not everyone knows about it, but “Automagistral-Pivden” has considerable experience in the construction of cement-concrete roads. In particular, large projects (subcontracted) were implemented in the Poltava and Mykolaiv regions before the war. One cannot fail to mention the construction of the Odesa International Airport airfield complex. The company has 5 cement-concrete factories, modern concrete-placing complexes.
At a distance of approximately 25 km from the repair site, a production base was created in the village of Storozhynets. A Liebher Betomix 4.5B-R/DW concrete mixing plant was mobilized from the Mykolaiv region. The Marini СoldFALT soil mixing plant was relocated from the Lviv region.
The existing road was widened and strengthened. The upper layer of the base consists of 16 cm thick reinforced concrete 0-40 reinforced concrete. The upper layer of the covering is 23 cm thick B25 (M350) cement concrete. The upper layer was placed using a Wirtgen SP-124 concrete placing complex, over the entire width of the carriageway (7 m). In addition to the carriageway, adjacencies and more than 40 entrances to the yards were arranged. In order to have time to open the traffic as soon as possible, the work was carried out in two shifts. 250 employees were employed at the facility. Traffic on the road is already open, but part of the work on the installation of the drainage system remains for next year. This is very important for mountainous terrain. A parking lot will also be built.
We hope that the company’s return to Bukovyna will not be limited to just one project, but will become part of our scaling strategy.
Highway worker Oleksandr M. has been in the war since the first days. He gained combat experience back in 2014, during the anti-terrorist operation, he volunteered to defend Ukraine. Demobilized, worked in our company. Since the end of February, he is back in the Armed Forces, in a special unit. Sasha’s military specialty is a scout. In March, he defended the northern outskirts of Kyiv. Borodyanka, Irpin – these names are now known to the whole world, but Sasha has personal memories associated with each of these cities. He repeatedly went behind the front line to find and neutralize enemy equipment. Cut the supply routes of enemy troops. Took part in the liberation of Kharkiv Oblast. Fighting in Donetsk region.
The most important thing in the life of a mobile special unit is transport. You need to constantly move. And, of course, not only on the roads. At the beginning of the war, Sasha bought an old Jeep, during the months of the war the car turned into junk. I turned to friends for help. Wrote a message to Mykola Timofeev, General Director of Avtomagistral-Pivden. – I am not very eager to ask for help, I understand that today it is difficult for everyone, people in Ukraine have no work, no income, – says Oleksandr. – Mykola Serhiyovych already supports us a lot. He gave a drone and provided other assistance. Nevertheless, he responded and bought an SUV with his own funds. The boys and I are very grateful to him! The Armed Forces receives a lot of new equipment, NATO weapons, but it is very difficult to provide the army with everything it needs. And the help of Ukrainian entrepreneurs is of great importance. Now Sasha’s unit is being restored. But new difficult tasks lie ahead. We must finish off the enemy and liberate our entire territory.
We wish our colleague good luck in the military. Sasha, the company is waiting for your return!
In the first months of war our company rendered an enormous help to medical and social establishments, we conveied foodstuffs, medications, facilities of hygiene, engaged in evacuation of children.
Now already as a contractor prolong to take part in realization of humanitarian проєктів. In particular, it building of module small towns.
One of such small towns it is erected forces of our company in the village of Горенка in the suburb of Kyiv. Exactly here the border of heroic defensive of the capital passed in March of this year. As a result of battle actions a settlement tested scale destructions. About 1190 houses are destroyed in Gorenci.
Month ago in Горенці editing of module small town began due to the help of the Polish partners.
On the preparatory stage a company took out garbage from an area, leveled the ground surface on the area of over 3 тис.м2,
arranged monolithic band foundations, conducted communications.
Were whereupon transported and set two sections of the modules for 40 houses.
The district was left without gas and, accordingly, heating. In addition, the border area is constantly under fire. The dams across the Pechenez reservoir have been destroyed. Therefore, the connection of the border region with the regional center is only a detour – through Veliky Burluk and Chuguiv. But after the occupation and the military operation to liberate Kharkiv Oblast, the network of local roads is in a terrible state. Critical destruction, subsidence, inflows. Therefore, to ensure passage, our company carries out pothole repair and map repair here. In particular, on some sections of the T-21-11 Pechenegy-Veliky Burluk highway, we milled the top layer of the surface and installed a leveling layer of fine-grained ABS 6 cm thick (in case of destruction of the base, it was additionally dismantled and a layer of ShPS 0-40 20 cm thick was installed) . The total length of the object is more than 42 km. On two sections of the regional highway T-21-14 Prykolotne-Veliky Burluk-Dvorichna, work was carried out on loosening the base, mixing with the addition of new material SHPS 0-40 and laying a coarse-grained layer of ABS 12 cm thick. Similar works are still ongoing at T-21-04 Kharkiv – Vovchansk – Chugunivka control point. The completion of the facility depends entirely on weather conditions. In the south of the region, the company continues the construction of a temporary crossing near the village of Stepok on the regional highway R-79 Sakhnovshchyna — Izyum. Earth embankments of approaches on both sides of the crossing have already been created. A two-point reinforced concrete pipe with a diameter of 1.5 meters is being installed. Difficult weather conditions affect the pace, but the work continues, because the highways of Kharkiv Oblast are the real arteries of life, on which the provision of the war-affected region rests.
