The construction of parking lots near the ports of Izmail and Reni has been completed.
From now on, trucks may not accumulate along the Odesa-Reni highway, but conveniently and comfortably, without interfering with the passage of traffic, be placed in a parking lot with an area of almost 2 hectares.
The construction of the site covering consists of two layers of the SHPS. This is quite enough now. In the future, it is possible to install an asphalt concrete surface.
It should be noted that currently the M-15 Odesa-Reni highway is subject to really extreme, over-the-limit loads. ⚓️ The Danube ports remain almost the only “window” for the export of Ukrainian grain. In June, Izmail and Reni shipped a record 1.5 million tons of agricultural products. These are almost 40,000 large-sized cars with the maximum permissible load weight.
In fact, a solid caravan of trucks is currently moving along the highway.
It is also worth considering that this summer “Ukravtodor”, as usual, did not introduce seasonal traffic restrictions: even in the heat, cargo transport weighing up to 40 tons (and in practice even more) can move on the country’s roads without restrictions. As a result, Odesa-Reni exhausts the repair interval many times faster than stipulated by the regulations, and requires very careful operational maintenance.
The construction of a parking lot near Izmail is part of a large program to increase the logistics potential of the western border of Ukraine. The program includes the expansion of access roads, the creation of space for traffic, and the arrangement of the accompanying infrastructure of checkpoints. In particular, our company is involved in the modernization of the “Krakivets-Korchova” PE on the border with Poland and some other checkpoints.
Almost a trillion hryvnias are needed for full recovery. Such large-scale investments are possible only after the end of the war. Currently, as stated by Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov, the “survival phase” continues.
To survive means to keep the main highways in passable condition. Provide clear, safe and fast logistics.
This is exactly what the “Automagistral-Pivden” operating department, which works throughout the country, is doing today.
The “Major construction” program for 2022 provided for the restoration of 5,500 state roads and almost 1,500 local highways. Therefore, as a result of the war, thousands of kilometers of roads did not wait for current or major repairs and continue to be destroyed. Currently, the only way to keep them roadworthy is emergency pothole repair.
Therefore, the crews of our operational division continue to eliminate potholes on the most destroyed sections of highways.
In the Kyiv region, work continues on the highway P-04 Kyiv — Zvenigorodka (bypassing the city of Fastov), and the repair of T-10-22 Myronivka-Bohuslav (near the city of Boguslav) has just begun.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, two teams are repairing potholes on various territorial roads.
In Odesa, pothole repair on the M-05 Kyiv-Odesa highway.
In the Chernihiv region, two brigades work on highways M-28 Chernihiv-Horodnya-Senkivka and M-01 Kyiv-Chernihiv.
In general, the company “Automagistral-Pivden” is responsible for the operational maintenance of more than 9.1 thousand kilometers of highways in 7 regions. At the beginning of the year, 560 kilometers of roads in Lviv Oblast were added to the Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Chernihiv regions. Since April, our unit was supposed to start working in Sumy Oblast as well, but the start of the project was postponed due to martial law.
Since the beginning of summer, the company has completed a large volume of work on the last sections of new construction and reconstruction in Moldova.
The structures of two bridges at 151 and 170 kilometers have been completed: it remains to arrange a layer of road clothing, install a guard rail.
Ahead of work on 3 kilometers of new construction and 2 kilometers of reconstruction, which involves the expansion of the road.
It seems that the plots are relatively small, but the complexity of the landscape causes a large amount of work. The height of the embankment in some places reaches 12 meters. Accordingly, the project also includes works on strengthening the slopes, installation of the drainage system. Suffice it to say that the company needs to install 12 kilometers of concrete trays!
Since the activation of works in April, 39 units of equipment were additionally moved to Moldova. Another 11 units are expected to arrive. Currently, more than fifty trucks and more than one hundred units of specialized equipment are involved in the project.
We would like to remind you that work on the 85-kilometer stretch of the M3 highway “Kyshiniv-Djurdzhulesti” began in 2019. Our company even built a production base in the city of Vulkanesti, where an asphalt concrete plant and a soil mixing plant are located.
Currently, the first section of the project (km 96+800 — km 151+200) with a length of 55 km, including nine bridges, is almost completed.
On two other sections (km 151+200 — km 171+290) and km (179+650 — km 190+750), where reconstruction is planned, active construction is still ongoing.
This year, 7 kilometers of roads need to be built “from scratch”, and an additional 4 kilometers are planned for extension and auxiliary road structures.
In addition, work on two bridges remains.
It is planned to complete the work by October 2022.
Our project in Moldova involves the creation of the accompanying infrastructure of the highway – new, modern car pavilions, lighting, pedestrian paths, parking lots.
The successful completion of the Chisinau-Dzurgiulesti route is the debut of our company on the European market. We are already working on receiving new orders from other European countries.
Yesterday, representatives of “Automagistral-Pivden” took part in a meeting chaired by Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
As the President noted, during the war, road builders work and perform strategically important tasks for the country.
First of all, these are the works necessary for the defense sector, as well as the provision of logistics and the restoration of destroyed infrastructure.
As noted at the meeting, the industry is currently facing new challenges and tasks. Victory over an aggressor depends on many factors. One of them is the clear and efficient operation of the infrastructure.
Indeed, since the beginning of the Russian invasion, “Automagistral-Pivden” is almost constantly at the forefront of the fight against the aggressor. Our brigades repair the “roads of life” under fire, which ensure supplies of everything necessary to the front. We are restoring roads next to destroyed bridges. We are building fortifications. Our fleet of specialized vehicles is involved in the delivery of strategically important cargo.
The company’s operation service monitors the state of the largest logistics routes.
For many years, “Automagistral-Pivden” was the number one national infrastructure company.
And in times of difficult trials that have befallen Ukraine, we remain with the country and faithfully work for the interests of the state.
At the first stage, the existing road in the area of passport and customs control was widened, connections to the vehicle inspection platform and U-turns were arranged. Platforms for wagons have been created. Communications, lighting, markings and signs were installed. We also carried out a complex arrangement of the territory – cut bushes and small forests. A fence is installed along the entire length of the control zone.
The second stage is the construction of parking lots for large-sized vehicles heading to EU countries.
The flow of grain trucks and other freight transport through the western border of Ukraine is constantly increasing. The line of trucks stretched for many kilometers. Currently, most of them are parked on the roadside, creating obstacles for the movement of other vehicles. The emergence of special sites should solve the problem.
The area of the sites is 2 and 1.7 hectares. On one of them, work on removing the soil layer and setting up the base is currently underway. We arrange a layer of sand on the other. Next is the installation of geotextile, a layer of SHPS, a geogrid and another layer of SHPS.
The design provides for the possibility of building sites in a short time and with minimal costs. At the same time, it is powerful enough to withstand the load of multi-ton machines.
This is the main route connecting the regional center with Kyiv.
All problematic sections of the route, which hindered traffic, finally became “passable”.
In particular, on the southern approach to Chernihiv, our company completed the approach near the destroyed bridge. The total length of the access road is more than 800 meters.
A small bridge near Topchiivka has also been restored: new floor slabs have been installed, a layer of asphalt concrete has been installed, work on the installation of a barrier fence is ongoing.
The bridge near the neighboring Ivanivka has been dismantled. Work is just beginning on it, but a detour has been organized, where we laid a layer of asphalt concrete last week.
At the same time, it is worth noting that the M-01 will have a weight limit of up to 10 tons.
The regional road P-69 Kyiv-Chernihiv, which was planned to be completely repaired in 2022 as part of the “Big Construction” program, is open for freight transport.
Currently, our company continues to restore the most problematic sections of this route. The first section with a total length of 17 km (the length of the “maps” is 6.3 km) has already been completed. Work continues on the second section with a length of 24 km (the length of the “maps” is 3.1 km).
Works on the Chernigov bypass were intensified. The structures of the destroyed bridge near Shestovytsia have been completely dismantled and removed – it is planned to start installing new bored piles in the near future.
A temporary detour is being created in the same direction next to another destroyed bridge near the village of Bilous (157 km of the M-01 highway).
Dismantling work on the bridge over the Desna near Pirogovka (route P-65) has been completed.
On the N-27 highway, a bridge near Kiselyvka has been dismantled, project work is underway.
The war continues, but work on restoring traffic on the roads of Chernihiv region cannot be postponed “for later”. Normal logistics is one of the working conditions of enterprises and the social sphere of the region. That is why the task has been set today – to restore traffic on all the main highways of the region.
Today, the Ukrainian ports in Izmail and Reni are operating at maximum capacity, transshipment volumes are increasing monthly.
If you do not count rail deliveries to Europe, this is the only open logistics route for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products. The large seaports of Odesa and Mykolaiv, through which the lion’s share of grain was sent for export, remain blocked.
The highway to the ports looks like a continuous caravan of large vehicles.
Not all trucks get to the terminals immediately – sometimes you have to wait, because the shortage of the fleet is quite significant.
In order for the trucks not to block the road, we are building a site for the traffic to stop. The area of the site is 1.7 hectares, it will be able to accommodate hundreds of pieces of equipment.
Every year, our company organizes a holiday for employees’ children on the Black Sea coast. Free tickets were planned to be provided this season as well. But the war began, and the recreation centers on the Black Sea are now just another target for Russian missiles.
However, the company continues to adhere to the traditions of charity and social responsibility. We decided to help those who need it the most and joined the evacuation and placement of Ukrainian orphans in Antalya, Turkey.
The first groups of children from orphanages arrived in Turkey at the beginning of March. Now there are more than a thousand of them in the country. The children were accommodated in two hotels located in Side and Beldibi.
The evacuation took place under the patronage of Olena Zelenska. The Romanian authorities provided great assistance in the transportation of the children, in particular the transfer from the Ukrainian border and the accommodation of each group in Romania before the flight to Antalya.
Help with products, things and other things was provided by volunteers and sponsors, including our company “Automagistral-Pivden”.
Thanks to the support of a caring business, the children will be in Turkey until the end of the war – they will be able not only to relax at sea, but also to fully study.
