After the start of the Russian invasion, more than 24,000 highways and 305 bridges were damaged in Ukraine

Almost a trillion hryvnias are needed for full recovery. Such large-scale investments are possible only after the end of the war. Currently, as stated by Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov, the “survival phase” continues.
To survive means to keep the main highways in passable condition. Provide clear, safe and fast logistics.
This is exactly what the “Automagistral-Pivden” operating department, which works throughout the country, is doing today.
The “Major construction” program for 2022 provided for the restoration of 5,500 state roads and almost 1,500 local highways. Therefore, as a result of the war, thousands of kilometers of roads did not wait for current or major repairs and continue to be destroyed. Currently, the only way to keep them roadworthy is emergency pothole repair.
Therefore, the crews of our operational division continue to eliminate potholes on the most destroyed sections of highways.
In the Kyiv region, work continues on the highway P-04 Kyiv — Zvenigorodka (bypassing the city of Fastov), and the repair of T-10-22 Myronivka-Bohuslav (near the city of Boguslav) has just begun.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, two teams are repairing potholes on various territorial roads.
In Odesa, pothole repair on the M-05 Kyiv-Odesa highway.
In the Chernihiv region, two brigades work on highways M-28 Chernihiv-Horodnya-Senkivka and M-01 Kyiv-Chernihiv.
In general, the company “Automagistral-Pivden” is responsible for the operational maintenance of more than 9.1 thousand kilometers of highways in 7 regions. At the beginning of the year, 560 kilometers of roads in Lviv Oblast were added to the Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Chernihiv regions. Since April, our unit was supposed to start working in Sumy Oblast as well, but the start of the project was postponed due to martial law.
