The 613-meter bridge in Shestovytsia is the largest bridge structure on the M-01 “Kyiv – Chernihiv” highway. During the occupation of the region in February–March 2022, more than 230 meters of the structure were completely destroyed. Reconstruction began in June 2022: debris from the old concrete structures was dismantled and removed, foundations and other structural elements were rebuilt.
The new superstructure was built using incremental launching technology. At a 130-meter assembly yard, steel segments were gradually connected section by section. Using hydraulic launching jacks, the assembled structure was pushed onto the bridge supports in two stages.
In 2023, reconstruction of the left carriageway was completed, followed by the right one. The second phase included reconstruction of the riverbed and shoreline parts of the bridge. At the end of 2023, the right carriageway was opened to traffic, and in autumn 2024 – the left one. Thanks to reconstruction, the bridge meets modern standards and can withstand significantly higher loads.
