Construction of the “horseshoe” interchange in Vita-Pochtova: installing formwork for the monolithic overpass!

Construction works on the two-level interchange (“horseshoe”) in Vita-Pochtova on the M-05 Kyiv–Odesa highway continued almost throughout the entire winter.

Whenever weather conditions allowed, crews carried out concrete works for the supports. During the curing process, the required temperature was maintained using temporary enclosures (“thermal shelters”) and convection heaters. In addition, a reinforced soil retaining wall was constructed on one of the ramps adjacent to existing development.

With the onset of spring, installation of the formwork for the monolithic overpass began. The reinforced soil wall is being strengthened from the outside with concrete blocks. Embankment works for the retaining wall of the overpass are ongoing. Concrete slabs are being delivered and installed as foundations for the scaffolding supports.

ATTENTION, DRIVERS!

Due to the installation of formwork, traffic restrictions have been introduced on this section for vehicles exceeding 4.2 meters in height. The restriction is expected to remain in place for approximately 3 months.

As a reminder, in the summer of 2025 our company completed the first stage of the interchange construction in Vita-Pochtova – the tunnel and the roundabout on the Boyarka side. Drivers can now safely turn or make U-turns towards Kyiv.

Last autumn, the client approved the implementation of the second phase of the project — a two-level interchange (“horseshoe”) enabling U-turns towards Odesa. This will finally eliminate the signalized intersection in Vita-Pochtova (near the Southern Cemetery), which has been the site of numerous traffic accidents.
