M-09 Highway: traffic opened on two bridges and laying of the surface asphalt course has begun!
The new pavement structure of the M-09 highway includes three layers of asphalt concrete:
Coarse-grained base course – 10 cm
Fine-grained binder course – 6 cm
SMA-15 wearing course – 5 cm
At present, more than 22 km of the base course and over 17 km of the binder course have already been completed. This week, works on the wearing course officially began.
In our previous post, we announced the opening of the bridges – two of them are already open to traffic. Final works are ongoing on the remaining bridges, including painting of reinforced concrete surfaces.
The last bridge in Rava-Ruska is planned to be completed within the next few months. Currently, the pile cap at the intermediate bridge pier has already been completed, while piles are being driven at the abutments.
Earthworks related to widening the road embankment are now at the final stage.
Installation of the stormwater drainage system (shown in the photo) is already underway in Rava-Ruska. This is the most challenging section of the project, as the town has a large number of underground utilities that need to be relocated.
